The Australian Technology Network of Universities (ATN Universities) would like to thank Professor Iain Martin for his long-standing contribution to the group. Professor Martin’s resignation from his position of Vice-Chancellor and President of Deakin University draws into focus the substantial leadership, collegiality and insight he brought to the ATN.
ATN Universities Chair Professor Alex Zelinsky AO said, “Iain has always been a champion for thebenefits of collaboration between universities. He is also a leading advocate for the social good that applied research and teaching makes possible. My ATN colleague Vice-Chancellors and I thank Iain sincerely for his friendship, his support and dedication to our group.”
ATN Universities Executive Director Dr Andy Marks said “Iain has been prepared to challenge public perceptions of universities and reassert the value the sector brings, not just economically, but socially and culturally.”
