The Australian Technology Network of Universities (ATN Universities) welcomes the strong performance of its members in the 2027 QS World University Rankings, with every ATN university climbing the rankings between 2017 and 2027.

The QS World University Rankings are among the world’s most respected measures of university performance.

All ATN members ranked within the top 250 universities worldwide in 2027.

The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and RMIT University rose in the rankings from 2026, with UTS achieving a record-high ranking of 87th globally.

Both universities also recorded standout results, with UTS holding Australia’s highest rank for Citations per Faculty, placing 37th in the world, and RMIT University achieving Australia’s highest rank in the International Faculty Indicator, highlighting the institution’s strength in attracting international talent.

ATN Universities Executive Director Dr Andy Marks said that the steady growth of ATN’s members is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of the ATN community and the strengths of the network as a whole.

“Public expectations of universities have risen sharply over the past decade. These rankings outcomes show how ATN member universities have more than met those challenges. Our nation’s leading technology universities are boosting Australia’s productivity and resilience at a globally recognised scale.”

“Each of our members strives to provide lifelong skills to Australians, uplift our local industries and economy, and make discoveries and innovations through applied research to improve the everyday lives of Australians. The decade of growth speaks for itself – ATN’s universities are delivering real and profound impact.”
