ATN Universities congratulates Professor Susan Elliott AM on her appointment as Deakin University’s Acting Vice-Chancellor, commencing the role from 7 October 2026.
Professor Elliott brings more than 25 years of experience in university leadership, including as Interim President and Vice-Chancellor of Monash University and Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the University of Melbourne.
ATN Universities Executive Director Dr Andy Marks said Professor Elliott’s extensive leadership experience would provide continuity and stability for Deakin during the transition.
“Professor Elliott brings an exceptional depth of university leadership experience to the role, and I’m confident she will provide strong and steady leadership for Deakin during this period of transition. Her extensive experience as a leader in some of Australia’s most renowned institutions will be a valuable asset as Deakin continues its work while the search for its next Vice-Chancellor progresses, and I look forward to working closely with her in the months ahead,” he said.
