ATEC appointment of Professor Barney Glover AO will boost productivity and fairness

The Australian Technology Network of Universities (ATN Universities) would like to congratulate
Professor Barney Glover AO on being formally appointed as the Chief Commissioner of the Australian
Tertiary Education Commission (ATEC)
Professor Glover has been a longtime collaborator with ATN Universities, particularly in his capacity as the Commissioner for Jobs and Skills Australia, last year delivering a keynote address at ATN Universities National Symposium on GenAI Graduate Skills and Employability.
ATN Executive Director Dr Andy Marks said: “In his role as Interim Commissioner of the ATEC, and previously as a member of the Universities Accord panel, Professor Glover has proven pivotal in shaping Australia emerging skills and research landscape.
“I have a strong and longstanding professional relationship with Professor Glover, and appreciate his leadership, generosity, and deep commitment to ensuring Australia’s tertiary education system drives productivity and promotes fairness.
“I look forward to continuing to work with Professor Glover, as well as statutory Commissioners The Hon Fiona Nash, Mr David Coltman, and Dr Stephen Duckett to usher in a new era for the university sector with the establishment of the ATEC.”
