Dr Andy Marks appointed Executive Director of ATN Universities

The Australian Technology Network of Universities (ATN Universities) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Andy Marks as its next Executive Director, commencing 19 January 2026. 

Dr Marks joins ATN Universities with an accomplished track record in higher education leadership. Most recently, he was Vice-President, Public Affairs and Partnerships at Western Sydney University and Executive Director of the Centre for Western Sydney. 

Dr Marks also serves on the boards of Wentworth Healthcare, Evolve Housing and the Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust, exemplifying his commitment to sector-wide collaboration and community impact. 

As an influential public commentator on politics and culture, Dr Marks is a regular contributor to national conversations through appearances on ABC television and radio, and contributions to The Sydney Morning Herald, The Daily Telegraph, and other national outlets.

Dr Marks said that he is excited to steer ATN Universities towards a phase of heightened collaboration with industry, government and community.

“The ATN member universities are Australia’s most industry-engaged and technology-infused universities. They are ideally placed to tackle the big challenges that we confront as a nation and globally. The ATN is a respected and trusted voice among industry and government, and I’m thrilled to be continuing that vital advocacy work in the interests of our members and, importantly, industry and the community,” Dr Marks said.
