The Australian Technology Network of Universities (ATN) welcomes the new elected Morrison Government and looks forward to continuing our constructive working relationship with the new Ministry and all members of Parliament.

The ATN is pleased to see the Government elected with a confirmed majority, paving the way for increased stability and certainty for our nation’s Parliament.

“Australia’s universities are directly the largest non-resource sector contributor to the Australian economy and indirectly the skills foundation for all industries. More importantly they play a critical role in improving the well-being of each Australian, providing a positive future for our society. Australia’s university system is unique and world class – it is inclusive, accessible, excels globally, and supports quality teaching and research on campuses in all corners of our country,” ATN Chair Professor Attila Brungs said today.

The ATN looks forward to working with the Morrison Government in developing policy agendas for how higher education can play a key role in ensuring our country’s future successes and prosperity.
