The Australian Technology Network of Universities (ATN) welcomes Labor’s $174 million commitment to higher education and providing support to low SES communities.

The Australian Technology Network of Universities (ATN) welcomes Labor’s $174 million commitment to higher education and providing support to low SES communities.

ATN Executive Director Renee Hindmarsh said, “The ATN has long advocated that Australia should have a sustainable, world-class higher education system that remains affordable and accessible to all who are eligible, regardless of background or circumstance.”

The ATN supports that Labor’s funding commitment will aim to improve opportunities in communities where graduation rates are low.

“A well-resourced university sector will deliver a more productive and innovative society, and contribute to Australia’s future prosperity.

“Access to education is paramount to support productivity and wage growth and having the right programmes available to underrepresented groups is critical,” Ms Hindmarsh says.
