This unique program combines cutting-edge theory and traditional Masters and PhD research training with professional and broad technical skills required by industry from diverse sectors including commercial organisations, Government, research organisations, and not-for-profit sectors.

From 2017, the IDTC will offer a new and expanded program which will enhance the work-readiness of graduates and provide more flexible options for industry partners. Upcoming changes include:

  • Industry projects will be expanded from mathematics and statistics disciplines to cover a broad range of research areas which are driven by the fundamentals of mathematical, statistical, and information sciences, such as science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM), finance, health analytics, and information technology.
  • Students studying a Masters by Research degree or a PhD are eligible to apply. Part-time study will also be available.
  • A range of projects with varying time frames will be offered, allowing industry to achieve quick milestones and solve smaller business problems, where necessary.
  • The program now offers more flexible funding options to suit unique industry requirements.
