Librarians of the ATN

Libraries of the Australian Technology Network, or LATN, comprises the University Librarians of each of the ATN institutions with the Auckland University of Technology (AUT) in New Zealand as an international participant. The LATN group develops an annual strategic plan which is formulated within the wider context of the ATN agenda and includes a number of agreed collaborative projects. Areas that this group are undertaking projects include information literacy, exploring means to maximise access to collections and electronic information resources; and exploring issues around E-Libraries, in particular the implications and opportunities for the ATN in response to IT developments.

Projects

LATN Offshore Information Literacy

LATN Members are currently investigating the ways in which they can best support students of their respective institutions who are studying in overseas locations.

Supporting Teaching and Learning Staff Development Initiative

LATN is conducting a series of workshops and seminars for their staff, to develop strategies to support the teaching and learning in their Universities

LATN Alumni

The LATN are developing a consolidated approach to the provision of services to Alumni.  This might include sharing of vendor services and costs, and sharing of information across the network including publicising services to Alumni, current charges and the type of services offered.

eGrad School and Info Scholar

LATN have developed an information literacy module called InfoScholar to support research students as part of e-Grad School Australia. The LATN group are continuing to work on further value-added tools and resources to support the e-Grad School.
