ATN in PROFILE
The ATN has signed a high level research collaboration agreement with the German Government’s German Academic Service (DAAD). The agreement will fund the exchange of academics from both countries who are working on joint research projects and build on the Australian Technology Network’s (ATN) already strong presence in Germany.
During the recent visit to the UK, the ATN held a highly successful “Capture and Convert” event at Rhodes House, Oxford.
Austrade London and the ATN teamed up to bring together Australia’s leading technology universities, major corporates, early stage equity providers and UK university partners to discuss collaboration, commercialisation and licensing of unmet technology needs at the Investing in Research Forum in London last month. The Forum was a key feature of Australialive, a fortnight of events in London showcasing trade and investment opportunities in Australia.
The ATN
congratulates its academics who have been
recognised for outstanding contributions to student learning in the 2010
Australian Awards for University Teaching. Of the
31 awards presented nationally, Curtin won four – more than any other
university in its home state of Western Australia.
The AQF Council released the final version of the strengthened AQF on 30 September 2010. It is available for AQF stakeholders’ information on the website.
Nunzio is established in Brisbane, at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) as Principal Research Fellow in the School of Engineering Systems; faculty of Built Environment and Engineering.

Moving beyond token women: The need for radical reform in corporate

The event is themed Managing Volatility and addresses the procurement
profession’s role in a world of volatility and change post GFC. As a
sub-theme we consider our true capability to address some of the many
growing challenges inevitably facing the procurement profession in future.
The event will bring together leading practitioners who will impart first hand knowledge through project case studies and will provide the platform for discussion on all facets of offshore campus management.
This conference will provide the opportunity to explore research and
scholarly practice in designing, implementing and supporting innovative and
enduring assessment in higher education institutions.
The Learning Space Design Summit endeavours to examine in a single cohesive setting, the impact physical space has on the outcomes of learning and teaching in an educational environment. From changes in traditional learning methods and pedagogy to the introduction of the latest technologies and practices, the design and utilization of space needs to evolve simultaneously to ensure the 21st century learner is placed in the best position and environment to excel in their learning.
