Dr Tom Robertson

Position

Research Fellow, Therapeutics Research Centre, School of Pharmacy, University of South Australia

Field

Liposomes in transdermal drug delivery; Nanoparticle pharmacodynamics using in vivo microscopy

Qualifications

PhD Bioorganic Chemistry, Australian National University
BSc Chemistry double major, University of Adelaide

Biography

I was an undergraduate in Adelaide before completing postgraduate qualifications in Canberra. I then worked in Southampton and San Francisco for a total of four years on projects involving enzymology, drug design and synthetic chemistry. I worked at the University of Queensland (UQ) between 2001 and 2009 including five years with my current research group, the Therapeutics Research Centre (TRC). In 2009, the TRC added a new lab in UniSA which collaborates with the original group at UQ.

Research Interests

Staff at the Therapeutics Research Centre use clinical intravital microscopy:
to monitor nanoparticle pharmacokinetics in skin and liver
in the assessment and treatment of human disease and animal models of disease
  analytical chemistry and pharmacokinetics

Recent nanoscience/nanotechnology publications
