Dusan Losic received a B.S. degree in Chemistry from the University of Novi Sad, Dept. of Natural Science and Mathematics, Serbia. He received his PhD in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (2002) from Flinders University, School of Chemistry, Physics and Earth Science, Adelaide, South Australia. He spent one year as a postdoctoral research fellow in Prof. D. H. Small’s Neurobiology Lab at Monash University, Dept. Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and three years as a research fellow at Flinders University. He received an Australian Research Council Fellowship award (2006) and is currently working at the University of South Australia, Ian Wark Research Institute in Adelaide, South Australia as a Senior Research Fellow
D. Losic has actively researched and published widely in the fields of nanoscience/nanotechnology encompassing several disciplines such as chemistry, material science, biology, medicine, and engineering where his expertise in electrochemistry and surface chemistry has been applied in addressing important issues on nano scale fabrication, molecular separations, neurochemistry, biosensing and drug delivery.
Current research topics include:
● Electrochemistry approach for engineering of nanoporous/nanotube materials
● Nature’s based nanomaterials and their applications (diatoms and diatomaceous earth)
● Molecular separation
● Biosensing
● Mesoporous materials for sustained drug delivery
● Titania/composite nanotube arrays for solar applications (ATN/ISTA)
